A man was lying on the uneven ground near the edge of the ravine.
And he appeared to need help.

Daniel immediately understood that the situation could be dangerous.
The man was positioned near unstable ground, and the terrain dropped sharply toward the ravine below.
Instead of rushing toward him, Daniel stopped at a safe distance.
He pulled out his phone and contacted emergency services.
He carefully described the trail, the nearby landmarks, and the man’s condition.
He explained that the man appeared conscious but extremely weak.
While waiting for professional help, Daniel kept watching from a safe position.
He spoke calmly.
“Help is coming,” he told him.
“You’re not alone.”
The man’s eyes opened briefly.
His voice was barely audible.
He whispered one word.
“Water.”
Daniel immediately understood that the man was severely thirsty or dehydrated.
But he also knew that moving someone who might be injured could potentially make the situation worse.
Rather than attempting an improvised rescue, he stayed nearby and continued communicating with emergency responders.
That decision would prove important.
