Luna was kicking under the play gym. Bodhi was chewing on the corner of a cloth book. Soleil had started to fuss in her seat.
“You booked a five-day trip without talking to me?”
“Jason booked the rental weeks ago.”
“Weeks?”
I looked toward the living room.
Ryan shrugged.
“Then we need to arrange help. I need help.”
He laughed.
“Why?”
“Because I can’t care for three infants alone for five days.”
“You do it every day.”
“And I need help every day.”

He shut the fridge harder than necessary.
