“She’s right.”
An older woman walked over carrying a tray.
She set it on the nearest table.
“I just lost my appetite.”
The tray held two untouched cheeseburgers and a basket of fries.
“Please,” she said softly. “They’re yours.”
The pregnant woman looked overwhelmed.
“I can’t.”
“Yes, you can.”
Before she could reach for the food, the woman in the cream suit laughed.
“Oh, wonderful. Now everyone gets to feel like heroes.”
A quiet voice came from the bully’s table.
