“I’ve had it since I was little.”
“How?”
“My brother accidentally knocked over an old lantern during a blackout.”
She smiled sadly.
“He cried harder than I did.”
Daniel didn’t move.
“What was your brother’s name?”
Everything else seemed to disappear.
The young woman looked at him with puzzled eyes.
“I haven’t said his name in years.”
Her voice barely rose above a whisper.
“His name was Daniel.”
She studied his face.
Then her eyes widened.

Daniel’s lips trembled.
“Anna?”
Anna stared at him.
