Grant slowly closed his eyes.
“You don’t understand.”
He turned toward Vanessa.
“The moment the bank received that report…”
“…they were legally required to notify every institution participating in the financing.”
Vanessa blinked.
“So?”
“So every pending loan connected to this project is now under enhanced review.”
Mother frowned.
“What project?”
Grant didn’t answer immediately.

“I suspected.”
