I stopped for a woman dying on the roadside and lost my job for being late, but when I came back for my desk, my whole life changed.<\/p>\n

My boss\u2019s voice cracked across the office so hard that even the interns by the copy room went silent.<\/p>\n
I was still standing there with my laptop bag over one shoulder, my tie half crooked, my chest heaving from running in from the parking lot.<\/p>\n
