PART 3: I never told my ex-husband or his wealthy family that I was the secret owner of the multi-billion dollar company where they all worked. To them, I was just the “poor, pregnant burden” they tolerated out of obligation.

I never told my ex-husband or his wealthy family that I secretly owned the multi-billion-dollar company where every one of them worked.

To the Morrisons, I was simply the woman Brendan had left behind—the pregnant former wife they considered an inconvenience.

They had no idea that their salaries, executive titles, company cars, and luxurious lifestyles all existed because I had allowed them to.

Then, during a family dinner, my former mother-in-law, Diane, decided to humiliate me in front of everyone.

Without warning, freezing water poured over my head.

I gasped as it soaked my hair, dress, and shoes.

Diane smiled.

“Look on the bright side,” she said. “At least now you’ve finally had a bath.”

Brendan laughed.

Jessica, his new girlfriend, tried to hide her amusement behind one hand.

I sat completely still as water dripped from my clothes onto the expensive rug beneath my chair.

They expected tears.

An argument.
